Merchandising..

September 29th 2006 / 10:19 Written by Vief No comments yet

I just set up a Paypal account! So now I can handle things on my own, from people paying me to me paying others, and it will be all be fast, secure and easy :] I’m terribly excited. Whooo!

The reason is of course that I want to start selling things, through this website, and I like being the one in control. Plus I know Paypal is a very safe and handy transfer method, I’ve worked with it before and it always turned out great.

So now you better prepare for the wonderful things coming!

Protest Against Injustice..

Yep, I’m back, and I’m listening to The Most Inspirational Band Ever aka Anti-Flag. In half an hour I have a meeting with the political youth group in my town [the youths of the Socialist Party, of which I am a member of] and I’m excited!

I wanted to share some inspirational protest songs [including The Protest song ^_^] and their videos, because they make me happy and they should make you happy and above all, inspire you.

I’ve been feeling sickish/unwell/ill today.. but I downloaded Opera and also this fantastic widget called SimAquarium which you can find here, and I’m kind of addicted now. Just like my regular Sims! Even if it’s only Sims 1, it’s still fun to see how my storylines develop, for example, I myself just got a baby.. Weird, huh!

Anyway, check out the video for The Protest Song, the video for War Sucks, Let’s Party and last but not least the video for One Trillion Dollars.

Well, I’m off now, maybe I’ll be back later! I’m continuously and wirelessly [heh] connected, so whoooo, more posts!

Sarah..

September 19th 2006 / 22:18 Written by Vief No comments yet

Well, yes, I have decided. I really do want to keep this as an actual blog. So there will be ins and outs and ups and downs and everything in between. There will be mentioning of drama and suspense, not that my life is all drama and suspense, but if there is I will sugarcoat it with a cherry on top. That basically means I don’t want to call names or get too detailed, but I do want to enhance my writing skills and keep this interesting, so we’ll see how things will go. What I want to assure is that all is one hundred percent real, even if I get cryptic at times.

So right now I’m listening to Kyo which is an amazing French band, thus resulting in the subject for this post. But also do I like the name Sarah a lot, so it’s often used in my stories and I even named some of my stuffed animals Sarah when I was younger. Maybe that has to do with the film The Little Princess.

Anyway, this is also an ode to one of my best friends, and the prettiest language in the world. I always get a little emotional with this song. Because of the lyrics but also because of the music. Enjoy.

Kyo – Sarah

Monday Doodle Time 03

September 18th 2006 / 20:11 Written by Vief No comments yet

Yay! A new doodle!

But you know what, after this busy weekend, I’ve only been drawing The London Police-like lads, actually I’ve just been copy-catting TLP and been drawing lads all day, and yeahhhh it’s because they’re so nice to draw, but also because of my Arts project.

Either way, here’s an old doodle for ya, cause if you want to see TLP you should check this out. [or this, like I just did and found more new things, yay!]

worms! yuck..

I made that after seeing Slither… hahaha!

And in conclusion, tell me why I should/shouldn’t get a Flickr account. I’ve been vowing against it for a while but all of sudden it’s like MySpace and YouTube and there’s no going around it anymore…. sigh.

Lady Lazarus

September 14th 2006 / 12:58 Written by Vief No comments yet

We’ve been discussing Plath in my English IB Class, and I’ve been reading this poem. We haven’t discussed it yet but I already decided that this is my new favourite poem.

I don’t know if I’m violating any copyright laws by posting it here, but I wanted to share the beauty of this poem with the world. So here it is, written by Sylvia Plath,

Lady Lazarus

I have done it again.
One year in every ten
I manage it—-

A sort of walking miracle, my skin
Bright as a Nazi lampshade,
My right foot

A paperweight,
My face a featureless, fine
Jew linen.

Peel off the napkin
O my enemy.
Do I terrify?—-

The nose, the eye pits, the full set of teeth?
The sour breath
Will vanish in a day.

Soon, soon the flesh
The grave cave ate will be
At home on me

And I a smiling woman.
I am only thirty.
And like the cat I have nine times to die.

This is Number Three.
What a trash
To annihilate each decade.

What a million filaments.
The peanut-crunching crowd
Shoves in to see

Them unwrap me hand and foot
The big strip tease.
Gentlemen, ladies

These are my hands
My knees.
I may be skin and bone,

Nevertheless, I am the same, identical woman.
The first time it happened I was ten.
It was an accident.

The second time I meant
To last it out and not come back at all.
I rocked shut

As a seashell.
They had to call and call
And pick the worms off me like sticky pearls.

Dying
Is an art, like everything else,
I do it exceptionally well.

I do it so it feels like hell.
I do it so it feels real.
I guess you could say I’ve a call.

It’s easy enough to do it in a cell.
It’s easy enough to do it and stay put.
It’s the theatrical

Comeback in broad day
To the same place, the same face, the same brute
Amused shout:

‘A miracle!’
That knocks me out.
There is a charge

For the eyeing of my scars, there is a charge
For the hearing of my heart—-
It really goes.

And there is a charge, a very large charge
For a word or a touch
Or a bit of blood

Or a piece of my hair or my clothes.
So, so, Herr Doktor.
So, Herr Enemy.

I am your opus,
I am your valuable,
The pure gold baby

That melts to a shriek.
I turn and burn.
Do not think I underestimate your great concern.

Ash, ash —
You poke and stir.
Flesh, bone, there is nothing there—-

A cake of soap,
A wedding ring,
A gold filling.

Herr God, Herr Lucifer
Beware
Beware.

Out of the ash
I rise with my red hair
And I eat men like air.

Those last lines do it to me, everytime. It’s just so touching and moving and all sorts of wonderful, I can read this poem for days on end [even if I only just read it for the first time today.. but I've read it thrice].
