I couldn’t put "I was back" because this is about the five-hundredth time I am back. Holy moly schmoly. I don’t even want to talk about it. The point is; I have my website back, everything works again [okay, some media upload stuff went wonky but *crosses fingers* that's about it] and I updated right away.

WHOA, Wordpress. When are you done with the whole "update Wordpress every week" thing? But okay. Also a big WHOA because it all looks so different! But much better than last release. My media uploads stopped with the year-month structure and I was lost on where to fix that. Looks like I can’t fix it, but at least from now on, it’s going to sort itself out again. Pfff.

So yeah. I AM BACK. WHOA. New host and everything. Unlimited stuff! WHOA. I had to pay an arm and a leg, but it’s here now, and hopefully I won’t have to move hosts ever again in my life because that stuff is so frustrating!.

But I’m here, and I’m going to make changes and after that I’m going to be awesome and update a lot. A lot of people I used to visit frequently have seem to have died, so I don’t feel to bad about dying for two months [almost! ] but it does make me wonder where everyone went. Oh well. I feel happy and good now, some sort of fresh start. Feels goooood!

Yeah. So I’m here. And I’m going to check out some stuff in Wordpress. Like that gallery. Ooooh.

Whoaaaaa, look at that! A gallery! But it doesn’t look all too awesome anymore when you click on the thumbnails. It’s a pity there’s no "next" or "previous" button, or a way to make the gallery look more awesome? Eh. I don’t know. It’s pretty nifty but I wouldn’t use it as a real *real* gallery. Now, on to the story of Aap McAap. It’s a Kipling monkey, you know, from those bags…? Well. Muffin gave me this monkey and I decided to take it with me and photograph it everywhere!

I used to have a tiny one that was hanging from my bag, now there’s this Aap McAap [as I named him, Aap being Dutch for Monkey] always in my bag, waiting for an opportunity to get out and get photographed. He’s one of the best models a photographer could wish for since he does exactly what I ask him to do

So much to tell! I updated my mobile blog, it’s Halloween at Pupe now [fun!], we tried to take part in a flash mob* but it failed [I tried to film it, but even that failed] and the results for the Dutch version of Any Dream Will Do were just announced.. I’m happy with that, I rooted for Freek all along! So now I’m just waiting for someone to sponser my trip to the theatre to see the musical Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.

Apart from all that, my life isn’t really all that exciting. This might also explain my not really updating my blog much. However! I want to change that, I mean, at least something interesting happens to me daily, so I might as well share that. Let’s see… When Muffin left for England [last week] I had a soiree with Camille on Thursday, then on Saturday Joyce came over for the weekend, and I saw lots and lots of episodes of Gossip Girl. It’s really been awhile since I’ve been this excited about a tv show. Well, maybe this is a first.

The worst part was when Muffin and I zapped through some channels and we saw the French dubbed version, oh my Davey, that’s horrible. IT IS HORRIBLE! The voice, the magical wonderful amazing hhmmmraaarrrrrrrrr voice of Chuck Bass is GONE! That’s just blasphemy, you can’t do that, it takes away all the magic of the show. I’m sad, but also very happy I don’t have to watch it in French. Ha.

For those of you not in the know: Chuck Bass is a character played by Ed Westwick, who’s actually British and has the best ever American accent, it just fits perfectly with the character of Chuck Bass. Now I know I’ve talked about Chuck Bass before on here, but he’s my ultimate favourite on the show. Imagine missing out on that voice! Woe on the people who miss out! I really feel for you.

Last but not least: as if having one blog, one website still in the works, a mobile blog and a livejournal wasn’t enough… Vief has a Tumblr now!

This is an example of the stuff I’m putting on there: my recent photography! I know people are always interested in what I do, and seeing as my Flickr is such a timemachine [I'm now uploading photos from June 2007!! shock, horror, etc.] I just figured that I should put all that together nicely. This way I’m also forcing myself to keep up. The people I follow on Tumblr are very artsy and totally inspiring, so I suggest you check it out and don’t be shy! I’d love it to connect to more people!

After my last post I still haven’t taken the time to clean up and show off my apartment And so I didn’t edit the post with old couch vs new couch photos. BUT! I have a lot of photos of my old couch since I included it in one of my projects for school last semester. Here’s an ode to my couch [although I didn't like it much, it still served fine for the time we had it...]!

Sometimes I sat alone, just crocheting. [April]

My sister came over and had lunch with us! You can’t really see the couch much, but it shows the setup. [April]

Muffin made Mexican food, we don’t only eat lunch but also dinners on the couch. [May]

And sometimes I was just hanging around lazily with my hair all floopy, eating something on the couch by myself. Here you can really see the fabric we put over that boring blue couch. I planned to make it custom fit, but I’m glad I didn’t because now we got rid of the couch I can use that wonderful fabric for something nicer! [May]

In case you were wondering: yes, I did a project where I would photograph a lot of myself, and I started photographing every dinner. So that resulted in a lot of dinner-on-the-couch photos and I think this one is pretty funny.

Our friend Nick came over [as our first Dutch friend, to finally see our new house! Yay.] and hung out on the couch as well.

I think it’s really fun to see "life on the couch" like this. So yep, I’m not done with my whole dinner-project and I should clean up so I can set up my tripod again and just photograph "life on the couch". Hope you enjoyed it!

Ah, I love this couch. I love. it. I didn’t even take pictures of my old couch to compare but uhm, I’ll update this post later I guess, I just have to write a little post now that I’m sitting on this couch with Nymphadora on my lap.

So let me tell you the whole story!

On Friday, I had a bit of stress because lots of things had to happen and nothing went right. My sister and cousin were coming and the house was a mess… Plus I was held up by one of my teachers [during feedback] so I missed my appointment with the duder that was going to help me fix my classes this year [so I know what my schedule is]. Argh! In the end though, all was well and my sister and cousin came after Muffin left for the Netherlands. Time for Weekend Cousines!

My cousin is French and so we spoke French all weekend. My mind is a blur. All sorts of French and Dutch and English gets mixed up and I end up not making sense. Haha. But it was so much fun, and the weather was so nice! We walked around in the wonderful city of Gent, ate Fritten [fries], sat at the Korenlei, went to the Pink Flamingo’s café [love it] and watched almost the entire first season of the L Word.

Shout out to my sister! Because she bought a new couch, and so Muffin and I inherited her old couch. It’s awesome, because it can turn into a bed. It’s pretty huge and takes up a lot of space in this tiny room, so I have to organise a bit more, but I loveeee ittttt soooo muuuuuch.

Muffin’s Dad went all the way to my sister’s house with Muffin, to get the couch and drive it all the way to Gent. And now it’s here and now I’m happy. YAY!

I wanted to do a nice update this morning about how I fixed the comments and stuff [this site is slowly coming back to being a whole, but I'm still working on it] but actually I didn’t and then I gave up. Though I’m pretty happy overall of the image I have in my head, I have a good idea of what this whole site is going to be. That’s half the work, no?

I was up all night waiting for Muffin because he had some geeky-people-stuff to do [Adobe User Group, if that means anything to you] and then I had only 3 hours of sleep before 8 in the morning arrived with the sound of the doorbell. The doorbell rang, but nobody answered and I got up anyway and never went back to sleep. Right now, I am knackered.

So in short: I’ve been feeling like some sort of zombie all day, and didn’t get much of the cleaning done that I planned to do. I had my first class though. There were supposed to be two classes, but luckily one was cancelled so I only had about an hour of class! HA!

We were with soooo many people though, the room was packed. A lot of people had to cram into places on the floor and the steps. It didn’t take much adjustment to get back into the whole school-thing, surprisingly. I started taking notes like usual [luckily I was in a seat!] and followed the class on Art History – The Middle Ages without too many problems. It was just that she was a bit fast sometimes, and I don’t take notes that fast when I’m all zombie-like.

I was supposed to go to the big student event "Student Kick-Off" in Gent, but I was soooo tired. So I missed that. I missed it last year, too. Blah. I’m going to crawl into bed, because tomorrow at 08:30 is Photo History.

I just want to do a photo post soon, text only is booooring. Sleep well, infinite x’s and o’s and nice dreams and all that.
