I think I officially missed the official Blogathon.. so I’m just going to make up one of my own. And I’m going to file all the posts under Blogathon anyway, because I can. What is a Blogathon, you ask? Well, since my old server ate all my Blogathon-07 posts.. A Blogathon is a challenge, in which you attempt to Blog Every Day For A Month. I participated in it last year but as I said, those posts were all lost in cyberspace. I don’t really follow anyone’s rules right now, but if you’re feeling like a Blogathon you are gladly welcome to join!

And obviously if you don’t feel like blogging you can always read mine. Yay.

So today.. today was April Fool’s Day and I stayed inside! I had to, because the TV-man was coming. [Like I said.] We decided to go all modern-age and get digital TV. The funny thing is, the man came to my door and rung the bell. We have two bells because we live in an apartment building, so we have a buzzer [for the downstairs bell] and another bell for the regular front door. I never know which is which. So I go to the phone, say "hello" and then there is a knock on the door. Figures, it’s the other bell. It’s always the other bell when this happens.. but you just don’t expect people to come directly to your door if they have to get in the building and up three floors first, right?

Either way, I open the door and the man is there, just like the text message on my phone told me ["our guy is on his way, we hope you're at home!"] and he starts asking me if I speak English -"yes.."- and that he is here for the digital TV but isn’t sure if it’s for me? Well, I assured him it was for me. He got in, looked around, then got outside again to get the stuff he needed.

During the whole installation procedure, he kept on talking in English and assuming that I couldn’t understand Dutch. That is hilarious, because Dutch is my first language. I was just too embarrassed to tell him this, so I kept on talking in English as well. Maybe it’s for the best. You see, when I talk to people here in Belgium, sometimes they don’t understand me, and I don’t understand them, even though we basically speak the same language. That can be frustrating, so I figured we might as well just communicate in a language we both understand.

After all, the TV works [well, most of it does, anyway] and that’s what he was there for. It was just funny how he kept apologizing for things being in Dutch. Haha. I would say my name is pretty Dutch [my last name] so I don’t really see how all this confusion started but oh well. He asked me if I could speak English and all I did was answer honestly!
