Yes, okay, I don’t really know. It’s not really my business, is it?! But then again, I can write what I want on my blog and I can write about the men I admire and this is one of those cases where I want to just write something. I mean, I don’t really want to show the world that I follow celebrity news from time to time. I don’t know why that is, maybe I should just embrace the fact that it’s out there, accessible and easy and read by thousands of people. The internet is making us all involved, and sometimes it’s fun to look at photos – you get to know more about people this way. Celebrities have MySpaces now, we don’t have to wait for interviews to show up in magazines, we just read about them on their blogs [or other people's blogs].
Why I don’t really want to discuss this is because I am not sure I agree. I don’t like the paparazzi. As a photographer, I think being a paparazzi is about the lowest of the low you can go. Have you ever seen videos of celebrities being stalked by the paparazzi? It’s awful. You get out of your car and it’s flash-flash-in-your-face and constant questions or remarks. What’s worse, is that some of those people dare to complain when they get hit by a car when they were in the way in the first place! People deserve some space. I know being a celebrity puts you out there "in the public eye" – but paparazzi is just meh.
So I guess, because I dislike the paparazzi and a lot of the whole "Hollywood-business", I don’t really like to admit that I do read a celebrity gossip blog. Only one though, on LiveJournal. It’s Oh No They Didn’t and I swear it’s also a great source for news on television shows I watch, or upcoming movies. But yeah, lots and lots of candid photos are posted there, and it’s not always pretty.
But I haven’t been reading in a few months, and I just got back there because I read this news somewhere else. I’m going to link to ONTD though, just because they have the most and best updates. I’m talking about this: Travis Barker is badly injured after a plane crash. And not only Travis, but also DJ AM, the two performed together (I don’t know if you watched the VMAs but yep, they were the house band). They are the only two survivors of the crash, there were six people in total on the plane. They’re both badly injured.
Four people died, the pilot, co-pilot and Travis’ bodyguard and assistant. All of this is just awful.
Of course I don’t know any of them personally, and I’m just some girl who is a fan so so far away. [If you didn't know, I'm a slightly obsessed fan.] I never know how to feel about this kind of thing. I mean, I’ve never even met Travis. Though I know this is terrible, and it must be so hard for everyone involved. So that’s why I’m sending good thoughts and my best wishes to them.
I can’t really say much else, and I don’t want to let celebrity stuff take over my blog. But this news particularly hit me personally, and it’s my personal website, so… We’ll get back to regular blogging by tomorrow. I just hope Travis and DJ AM will be fine.
