There is a lot to find out about me. Like lists of what I like, what I do, what I read or watch. So I made a list of the different aspects, and gave them all their own page. If you feel like finding out only one thing about me, this way I made it easy for you! And you can skip everything that you don’t find interesting, and even leave comments if you want!

About me

Me and a Mmmmuffin 2009
I study photography in Gent, Belgium. I was born in the Netherlands though, and spent 20 years of my life there. I had a bilingual education [English and Dutch] and passed my IB exam, A1 Standard. I really like languages, I feel like I’m almost native in English, though I was raised half Dutch and half French! My mother was born in France [but her parents were Vietnamese!] and so I have three languages I can "think" in. That’s the most important part, I guess. My French isn’t fluent but I like working on that! One of my favourite cities is Paris. I always feel at home when I’m there.
Apart from English, Dutch and French, I also like Gaeilge a lot. Gaeilge is the Irish word for… Irish! I don’t know how I became so fascinated with Eire [Ireland!] but I am. Maybe it has something to do with the fact that I play harp? I have almost been playing for ten years and I love it!
So we’ve already tackled two of my passions: music and languages.
My other big passion is photography. I am a student at an art academy. Actually, the Koninklijke Academie voor Schone Kunsten [KASK] or Royal Academy of Fine Arts, in Gent. The study that I’m doing is a three year bachelor in Photography. At the moment I’m really busy with what I love to do, taking pictures. I have a lot of cameras, analog and digital, instant and lomo… I love them all! I take pictures everyday and everywhere, I never leave the house without a camera anymore. If I go out [and it's not just for class] I often have at least two cameras with me! Haha. I might be a little obsessed. You can find out more about my photography under "photos".
When it comes to love and sexuality, it has always been very clear to me: I’m bisexual. And I’m completely happy with it. Right now I have a boyfriend [whom I call Muffin] called Rob, we’ve been together for 3,5 years already, and we’ve been living together for two years as well. We have a small and messy apartment [but I love it!] in the roof of a building very near the city centre of Gent. It’s pretty close to everything: I’m really happy to be living with the two of us. Too bad we can’t have pets anymore
. My cat Spetter died in January 2009. I miss her a lot.
I have a sister, she’s about 5 years older than I am. My mother passed away when I was ten, I still miss her deeply. I don’t think you can ever get ‘over’ missing someone that you really love. Sometimes I find it hard to believe that I’ve been without a mother for more than half of my life. What I’d like to do is help other young people who have lost a parent. I know it’s not easy and I am always willing to listen. If you feel like you’d like to talk to me, my contact info is right below.
I’ve always been very creative and opinionated [maybe a little stubborn], there are a lot of things I feel strongly about. I have clear opinions on things like war and the military, I’m a vegetarian and I live a straight edge lifestyle. This means I live "poison free" – which originated with no drugs, no alcohol, no cigarettes and no casual sex, but I’ve included no meat, no caffeine, [almost] no medicine and just the best stuff for my body as possible. I believe that if you have a cleaner body, you have a cleaner life. Clean in the sense of taking care of yourself and not adding substances to it that make you instable. Though straight edge isn’t the same for everyone. For me it works out pretty well and I feel really happy about my decision.

Me in Lolita fashion
I refuse to grow up. At least partly. A big part of the mess in my house is because of all the stuff I own! Stuff like My Little Ponies and Pez dispensers and Hello Kitty stuff. I love stuffed dolls and especially Ugly Dolls. But the way I show my "inner little girl" the most is through fashion: Lolita fashion.
I could go on and on about Lolita but the point is that it’s Japanese and cute.
I hope you’ll enjoy my blog and all the rest that is on this site!
