Vief in real life
When you get to meet me/know me in real life, this is going to stand out:
- I have a septum piercing, gauged ears and I like having ‘unnatural’ hair.
- As a lolita, I’m mostly found in very poofy skirts or dresses :D with cute blouses or frilled cutsews on top and a bow or beret on my head.
- I have a Dutch accent, which is very apparent when I speak with Belgian people.
- Though when I speak French or English, I don’t really have a Dutch accent. [I do of course have an accent, just a weird one.]
- I can be pretty geeky and obsessive over trivial stuff and pop culture.
- I ramble. Mostly when overly excited, or confused. Yet often it is others that get confused by my rambling.
- I really like to sing.
- Whenever I go out, I bring my camera. Just any camera is fine, I feel really helpless without something to take photos with.
- I am addicted to lip balm. I have to have a lip balm handy or else I go insane.
- I don’t like my own fingernails. I don’t like the feel of nails on things [like paper or keyboards/buttons] and I keep them as short as possible. This comes in handy, because harp players aren’t supposed to have long fingernails [unless they play South American music where fingernails are used for playing]. I’m very conflicted over nailpolish!
random facts
- I burst out singing randomly, during conversations, on the bike, on the train.
- I’m also good at falling asleep in random places.
- Sometimes I feel ashamed for fangirling over people because I realize these people have families, are someone’s partner, sibling or child. It makes me feel quite uncomfortable.
- Lurking, looking at people’s creations and photographs, is what I like about the internet. It’s nice to find other people with similar interests, or completely different people who can be very inspiring. I try to leave a comment most of the time, because it’s just so nice to read that people look at your stuff!
- Not-centered-layouts make me unhappy, as do tiny fonts. I have to push myself to stay on the website if any of this is the case.
- Whenever something has the number "41" in it, I smile. This may or may not have everything to do with my love for the band Sum 41.
- I never thought I would like to "fit in" with a group of people, subculture or fashion style, but now I really like it when people tell me they know about Lolita [or "Gothic Lolita", as people sometimes mistakenly say] and I really enjoy informing people about everything and anything Lolita-related.
lately, I’ve been really into…
My take on the "things I like" list. It got really boring so I’m just going to list five things here and we’re done!
- Music: The Wonder Years. I recently discovered them and fell in love on first listen. Can’t believe it took me so long!
- TV: BEING HUMAN! Both the original British version and the Northern American counterpart. Yay, supernatural drama-comedy!
- Fountainpens: a new found love for an old favourite of mine.
- Boots: important in this cold and wet Yorkshire weather.
- Instagram: so much fun! Add me if you’re an addict like me!
